1. NQAS Survey Begins
The National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) national team commenced a survey of the district hospital. Information collected from patients and their relatives will be compiled into a report and sent to Delhi for national-level evaluation.
2. Three-Day Inspection Process
The inspection team will remain at the hospital for three days, during which they will inspect all facilities and services provided to patients. Based on their findings, the team will prepare an evaluation report for submission to the central authorities.
3. Hospital Selection & Previous Score
The district hospital was chosen for the national survey after scoring approximately 94% in the state-level NQAS assessment. Having qualified at the state level, the hospital is now undergoing the national evaluation.
4. Inspection Team Members
The national inspection team includes Dr. Gopal S. Kadam, Dr. Priti Punetkar, and Dr. Rajiv Kumar. Upon arrival, they met with the hospital’s doctors and staff and immediately began the inspection process.
5. Patient & Relative Feedback
The committee spoke with patients and their relatives throughout the premises to collect feedback on services, cleanliness, water supply, and whether any money is being charged for tests or reports. This first-hand feedback is an important part of the NQAS evaluation.
6. Hospital Preparations During Inspection
Prior to and during the inspection, cleaning activities continued across the hospital. Staff were observed spraying insecticides, using room fresheners in doctors' chambers, and replacing broken dustbins. The hospital garden — neglected for years — was cleaned and tidied. Guards and employees were present in uniform to assist with coordination.
7. Officials Present
Key hospital officials present during the inspection included Civil Surgeon Dr. Pradeep Moses and Pediatrician Dr. Bhupendra Gaur, who coordinated with the national team and hospital staff.
